Quick Thought On: Iron Man 2

I’m going to make a confession. While I loved the late Heath Ledger’s portrayal of The Joker..I found the movie itself to be very long…and dark…and Batman growled a lot.

*side note* Why was his “Batman” voice so different from his regular speaking voice anyway? Was that his “scary grown up voice?”

Now I’m an ardent fan of superhero comics & video games, but Iron Man was never one that I followed in my youth, nor was Transfromers. [I was an XMen fiend] However I LOVED Iron Man…and am anxiously awaiting this one.

Robert Downey Jr…he does things to me.

The movie is set for a May 7, 2010 release

Toyota Recall: random message board advice

Disclaimer: The following is something that I came across while researching a story about the recall. I do not endorse its validity as I am not qualified to give out mechanical advice. But enjoy!

Toyota should have stopped selling these vehicles LAST JUNE when the new gas pedal defect was discovered. Since that time, people have been killed while Toyota execs planned an ad campaign featuring “Toyota Quality”.

There are two different Toyota defects. The gas pedals that get stuck on floor mats were known to Toyota five years ago, but Toyota refused to begin repairing those vehicle until a few months ago….dozens of deaths later. The new gas pedal defect is a defect in the pedal return assembly, and Toyota has blocked efforts to recall those vehicles for over six months, and was knowingly selling new vehicles with the defective gas pedals just two days ago.

Do NOT wait until you are going down the freeway at 70 mph to practice stopping a Toyota with a “stuck” gas pedal. Practice this NOW, in a large empty parking lot until you can do it automatically….shift the vehicle to “neutral”, and brake gently while continuing to steer the vehicle. If you attempt to turn the engine OFF, you will lose both your power brakes and your power steering…just put the vehicle in NEUTRAL with the engine still running until you are off the road.

Just got a call from my doctor. The news Ive been praying to hear…Finally all abnormal cells w/in my cervix are gone, and there is no indication of cancer. I dont know what else to say…I just wanted to share that. *pure joy*
